Looking for some inexpensive stocking stuffers for your family? If they're into music- give em an ear full with Skull Candy.
Haven't heard of Skull Candy? They've been around now for a few years now- mostly used by the uber cool snowboard crowd.
With the weather turning, more of our workouts go inside, so I'm cranking the music a lot. With my iPod, I always have a tough time shoving their earphones into my ears and the sound is crappy, so the eternal quest for earphones is on- except, I don't want to spend $100 on something that I'm pretty hard on with training.
Jenni and I were in Target, shopping for others, and of course, I'm distracted by what I want. So, picked up a pair for $14.99- they come in various colors, plus, I love skulls (like Lucho), so another bonus there. They're sold here
Get em home and give em a listen. Holy crap, these things are awesome. Base, clarity, noise cancelling, plus, they stay in your ear, and they have replacement bud sizes for smaller/bigger ears. Cable length and cable pinch are perfect as well. Been running and biking in these and they stay in and sound just really nice. For $15, these are well worth it, I can't imagine how a $99 will sound or last, so I'm sticking with these.
The SkullCandy website has a bunch more headphones and different earbuds, but more expensive, which I'm not sure the differences, but who cares.
Stuff these in someones stocking this x-mas and maybe they'll return the favor. Rawk out with the Skullz.

It's so funny you write this now Jeff. I JUST picked up a pair from Target and was blown away, as were my eardrums! For once I can actually hear the music while riding. It's especially nice because the volume can be lower since there's no wind noise. Of course, that means I'm riding OUTDOORS. You poor saps!
Hey!
I've been looking for something cheap and I hate how the ipod ones always fall out.
Yer coming over on Thursday and I have an empty stocking... hint hint hint. :) :) :)
Mark- don't get me started with the whole sock thing. enuff said.
CV- As an old DJ buddy of mine once told me- listening to distorted sound is how you degrade your hearing, but when the sound is clean (without distortion) it has less effect on hearing loss.
Moral of this? With the Skull Candy Buds- Blast it until your ears bleed and you'll be just fine!

Dude... I don't have my compression socks hanging out!!! :)
Family thing... we have stockings hanging on the fireplace. You'll see... less than 24 hrs now.
Marky V uses compression stockings? I wonder if Santa's little helpers do.
I thought I was the only one who discovered these little gems....I got anodized blue....A perfect Circle sounds killer in them.
i use these for running
they do a great job of staying in my ears (ipod headphones always fall out for some reason), and they sound great.
the inline volume slider is also a nice feature
